If you are in the metro New York area June 17-18, plan to stop by our booth #249
from 10a.m. to 5p.m at the BuildingsNY 2008 show in the Javits Center.
Do you belong to a group that would like to tour our facility? Perhaps you
would like to learn more about sustainable forestry. If so, contact us to
arrange a tour of our mill and/or a woods walk. Scheduled tours are
conducted free of charge to groups interested in learning more about the lumber
and forestry industries. You can contact us by
email or by calling (607)
286-9201.
We now have the capability of producing custom finger-joint products in widths
up to 6". The products we are currently offering are 1x4 and 1x6 select
pine, 1x5 and 1x6 T&G pine flooring, and 1x6 pine roofers, as well as select
moulding profiles and hardwood flooring. All can be produced in 16' lengths, saving time during
installation in larger areas. Contact us at (607)286-9201 for more
information.
Our 14th Annual Open House is history. It was
2 years in a row of warm sunshine - an almost unheard of change of weather for
us. Our woodworking contest set a new record of participation with 34
entries. The skill and talent of our local woodworkers continues to amaze
us every year, and this year was definitely no exception. Combined with
great music by "Just Throw Money" and refreshments provided by Habitat For
Humanity, it made for a wonderful fall outing for all those in attendance.

The past two years have been busy here at Wightman Lumber. We have
continued to improve our production operation with the addition of new equipment
and renovation of our existing facilities. As
part of our expanding product line, we are now stocking finger-joint primed 1x4
edge and center bead. This product is well suited for ceilings or any
application where longer lengths are required and paint or opaque stain is to be
applied. We have also added finger-joint white pine clapboard in 6" and 8"
widths, primed with an oil base primer. This material has been installed
on a test site in our retail yard. Stop in and see our new products.
